Come riportato nella “MessageBox” (grazie Giacomo!) Hans Reiser sta (s)vendendo la sua azienda, la namesys, per pagare le spese processuali. Come ricorderete, il creatore di ReiserFS sta avendo dei gravi problemi con la legge in quanto indiziato per il presunto omicidio della moglie, come avevo scritto nel post “Reiser velocissimo… in prigione“.
In quel post avevo espresso un unico dubbio, che ad alcuni era sembrato eccessivo in quanto si sta parlando di software opensource. Il dubbio era:
[…] si pone sul serio il problema: se Reiser dovesse essere condannato e restare in prigione che fine farebbero i suoi file system? Adottati dalla comunità?
Beh la domanda ha dimostrato di non essere tanto peregrina, visto che i principali siti di notizie riportano che Hans sta cercando un acquirente per la sua azienda e dunque per i suoi filsystem. slasdot, osnews.
Da oggi ReiserFS e Reiser4 potrebbero essere acquisiti da una qualsiasi azienda, e rilanciati come nuovo prodotto. Stavo per scrivere qualcosa come “organizziamo una colletta e compriamolo noi, così lo chiamiamo PollycokeFS”
…ma c’è chi ha ancora tanta voglia di scherzarci su?
E il bello che non sarà venduta ma svenduta……..MICROSOFT GIÙ LE MANI!!!!

merda…. spero solo che lo compri la IBM o qualche azienda “amica” (no!!! non ho detto novell…) veder finire il reiserfs diventare il winfs sarebbe atroce… vederlo pubblicizzato come nuova grande invenzione di micro$oft ancora peggio….

hmm… non so se avete sentito. in questi giorni e’ accaduta una cosa simile.
una casa di giochi ha venduto il gioco.. beh la comunita’ l’ha ricomprato :)

la FSF ha donato 60.000 euro per la comunita’, in modo da aiutare l’acquisto…
beh se tutto questo e’ successo per un gioco e i suoi sorgenti, puo’ darsi che succeda anche per il reiser :D
e se succede per il reiser, mooolte saranno le offerte… speriamo che succeda :)
